Church History

Pastors L. Victor and Laura met in 1984 at an Ever Increasing Faith Ministry Crusade in New York. They served in the Ministry of Helps at Redeeming Love Christian Center and were married by Pastors Clinton and Sarah Utterbach in June of 1986.

In 1988, they both left Redeeming Love Christian Center along with Pastor Tony and Bridgette Fontanelle to establish the Revealed Word Christian Center in Jamaica, New York. Under the Pastorship of Tony Fontanelle, they were ordained as deacons.

During those periods when Pastor Tony and Teacher Bridgette were out of the country, fulfilling their evangelical calling, Deacons Victor and Laura Lowery developed and grew in their understanding of overseeing a congregation. This included conducting the worship services, counseling, housekeeping and cleaning, hospitality for visiting guest ministers, communion and overseeing the collection and deposit of church offerings.

In July, 1990, they were ordained into the ministry as pastors at the Revealed Word Christian Center and in September, 1990 began Love Oasis Christian Center in their home in Malverne, New York.

In November, 1990, they obtained a lease with West Hempstead Development Company and the Church moved to 50 Fulton Avenue, Hempstead, New York. Here the Church has continued to grow with outreach into the community through food and clothing distribution to the poor and shut-in, outdoor gospel concerts, prison ministry and neighborhood missionary work.

In 1995, Love Oasis Christian Center began brodcasting "The Oasis" on WTHE, 1520 AM and in 1996 on WWRL, 1600 AM. In 1999, the radio broadcast was expanded to included the continent of Africa and Asia including the northern parts of Australia. As they endeavor to fulfill their mission...
