Salvation

How can you be assured that if you died today you would go to heaven? At some point in our lives, each one of us will have to confront this truth. The Bible has the answer to this question. God reveals to us all the truth we need to know about the after life, heaven, and salvation. No one has to remain in a state of uncertainty regarding this issue.

In the Book of John chapter 3 Jesus engaged in a conversation with a man named Nicodemus, who was a Pharisees and ruler among the Jews; but was also a follower of Jesus. Nicodemus said to Jesus I know that you have come from God, because no one could do the things you do unless God is with him. Listen to Jesus’ response, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” “ Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.” (John 3:5-6)

Jesus very clearly said that each of us, who wish to have a relationship with God can only do it by Spirit to spirit, which is what he called being born again. There is no other way to have fellowship with God, or even access to heaven. So then, the next question we have to ask ourselves is how do we become born again Spirit to spirit. In the book of Romans chapter 10 verses 9 thru 10 it says, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” We can be born again, Spirit to spirit, when we accept Jesus as the one who has made salvation available to us. There is nothing we can do to earn it. No amount of good deeds, or charitable contribution can purchase salvation. Jesus alone made salvation available to us by what he did at Calvary when he willingly allowed himself to be crucified to pay for mans sins and purchased for us him salvation. This is what is called redemption. When you believe in what Jesus did, and receive him as the one God sent and used, then you can be born again by God’s Spirit to your spirit. It is a gift of God, available to anyone willing to receive it.

If after reading this you are ready to make a decision to receive Jesus, then salvation can be yours and you too can be born again and have heaven as your final destination. It is merely a choice. PRAYER OF SALVATION

Heavenly Father, I believe with my heart that Jesus is your Son and that he died and rose from the dead so that I could have everlasting life. Jesus I call you Lord and ask you to come and live in me. I thank you for saving me, in Jesus precious name I pray. Amen.
